The International Kicksled days take place from .. Jan 2009 till ... Feb 2009.

Important is if you want to take part in the kicksled events to entry on time. Preferable before 1 September 2008. So we can make the best arrangements for our competitors. To send in your entry later is possible but you have to book your own gasthous or hotel. The Weissensee region is around these dates very crowded because of a large 200 km scater race (11-stedentocht) on the lake that same week. Organisation: Dutch Footbike Organisation

Come to Weissensee in the Alpes, simply because it's a great week on a breath taking location with world record times.

You are all invited to join the International Kicksled days. The is the perfect place to compete, set some records (or PR's) and have a great time. We will put in all our efforts to get optimal circumstances for good results. The Stichting Winter Marathon (the organisation of the alternatieve Elfstedentocht) is pleased to welcome us on the Weissensee and wants to help to make this also a Kicksled-event. They will prepare the ice for us, the kicksledraces will be scheduled in the skate-progam.

Weisensee is for Dutch people a synonym for Alternatieve elfstedentocht. For many years the Weissensee is during 2 weeks a Dutch Enclave in Austria. Thousands of ice-skate fans travel each year to this lake for one of the biggest ice skate events in the world.
The ice is mostly great; the organisation prepares the ice every night for the races on the next day. The weather is most of the times very good. The atmosphere with all these skate fans is perfect.

For 6 years now, the Weissensee is not only for the ice skaters anymore. Almost every year a small number of enthousiastic kicksled athletes is present at Weissensee. The last few years the accent of the Kicksleddays was mostly recreation and promotion. This year it's time again for some real action.

Fast and not fast, young and old can take part.
Plan your winterholiday and join us on the Weissensee, der Spielplatz der natur......Weissenssee is located on 1.000 meter hight between the Alpen and Dolomieten in Karinthië. The valley is 14 kilometer long and contains good ice conditions in wintertime... Also you can easily add a couple of days skiing in Austria.

> Ski-piste for experienced skiers (also a small ski-piste present).
> Scating (over 8.000 NL scaters that week on Weissensee).
> Partying (big party tent for thousends of guest is present).

(20 km from Weissensee there are larger ski-areas if you want to extend you winter holiday).

Bed and breakfast:

Hotel/Pension If you prefer, The Nederlandse Autoped Federatie will arrange a place in a pension or hotel. The prices are approx € 40,- each person, each night.Breakfast included There are nice restaurants in the villages and the prices are not high.

Often the price is including breakfast. If you send in entries to participate in the Kicksled events let us know if we should take care of the booking of a room for you or not. And if so your arrival and departe date.

Alle kicksledders are free to diner when and were ever they want. Restaurants in the Weissensee area are not expensive and good qualited. Also for a few Euros you can buy spagetti, soup, toast, burgers, chicken, snitzel etc.. in the large tent of the organzation. Tent is open from morning till late in the late in evening.

If the gasthaus approves people can also kook themselfs, but that is not in the arrangement included. Mostly the gasthaus owners don't mind. There is a supermarket in the centre of the valley (close to the bridge) see map.
